Work Package 2: Foundations

Description

In WP2, the foundations for the subsequent WPs will be built. First, a review of the legal framework conditions for the decarbonisation of residential buildings in Austria will be undertaken. Second, cost parameter of different decarbonisation measures will be analysed. This does not only refer to the costs for refurbishment and the exchange of heating systems, but also to the costs for decarbonising and expanding district heating grids and for cooling networks. Third, available data on climate impacts, impacting future H&C demand, will be assessed and processed for subsequent model incorporation. Fourth, other key input parameters like energy price trends or demographics will be assessed and prepared. Finally, distinct decarbonisation scenarios will be defined, based on a literature survey and a conceptualisation of recent trends, and discussed with and validated by stakeholders.
